Organization in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) of the International conference for the safeguarding of cultural heritage in conflict areas

Creation of the International alliance for the protection of heritage in conflict areas (ALIPH) in Geneva (Switzerland)

Launch of the first projects supported by ALIPH, including the rehabilitation of the Mosul Museum and the Monastery of Mar Behnam (Iraq)

Launch of 14 new projects, including the restoration of two churches, two mosques, and one historical house in Mosul as well as sites in Afghanistan

  • Climate Response

    Protecting ancient sites from rising threats.

    In July 2024, ALIPH launched its first-ever call for projects focused on heritage affected by climate change in Africa. By its closing date in late November 2024, the call proved an immense success.
